Key Stage 2

Now you have completed everything on the EYFS and KS1 geography national curriculum - prepare for KS2. Key stage 2 will build on why geography is relevant and equip children with the knowledge about the world they live in. Children will be introduced to places beyond their local area and discover places across the world. They will learn about some of the world's most significant human and physical features.

Reviews

This resource is fantastic! The lessons are beautifully planned out and really engaging. The steps in the lessons are easy for the class to follow and progress. The SOW outlines everything that I need to complete my medium term plans. This resource has saved me hours of work. Thank you

Absolutely brilliant resource. This is the best Geography resource I have ever purchased. This has enabled my team to build confidence in delivering Geography at KS2 as they aren’t subject specialists. It is so visually engaging and simple to follow. The students love these lessons and find the structure accessible and fun. These must take hours to put together, which is so helpful to lower my team’s workload and improve wellbeing, whilst being reasonable on my budget. It’s worth every penny and more. I will be purchasing more resources. Thank you!

What a great resource! The images used are so vibrant and clear, I feel these will really help the children remember the learning for longer. Also the colours and animation used are so lovely and engaging.. the vocab and varied activities look super engaging and clear to follow! Cannot wait to start using this with confidence with my class 😍 thank you for your hard work!

Preparation for KS3

Prepare your children for year 7. Read the Geography National Curriculum again and check that your children have covered each section.

     Locational knowledge
     Place knowledge
     Human & Physical geography
     Geographical Skills

 Fieldwork

Identify any missing geography information. You can then set homework or 5 minute activities to recap the sections.

Baseline Assessment

Most children will have to sit a geography year 7 baseline assessment when they start secondary school. It is an effective way of ascertaining what geography they already know from Key Stage 2. I have created my own version of a baseline assessment. Would your children be confident sitting the exam? Can they recall the information and apply it in Key Stage 3?
