Planning

Fieldwork should not be a once a year stand alone lesson. It should be embedded within your geography lessons. Create a curriculum where fieldwork is carried out on a regular basis. Experiencing the world on 'first hand' basis touches us in a different way to classroom based lessons. Think about what you remember from when you were at school. Real world experiences are powerful and create positive memories. Try to include as many different fieldwork techniques as possible.
